Career Exploration

Career-Exploration

Career Exploration uses many techniques to explore possible jobs or career goals. Informational interviews, job shadowing, labor market analysis, and more are all used to help an individual explore in greater depth a job that he or she may be considering. An informational interview allows an individual to interview an employer to find out what qualifications, skills, education, and experience might be needed to do a particular job. An individual can observe someone else doing a job through a job shadow and see first-hand what a typical day looks like. A labor market analysis can gauge the opportunities available in the immediate area for a particular type of job. This may help an individual choose a major in college or a career path.
